Witches are, well, magickal. We have the power to shift the energies of the Universe in our favour. We can cast spells for healing, to find a job to find love… The law we are taught to hold true to is “An Ye Harm None, Do What Thou Wilt”. This axiom is a lovely thought, but is there really such a thing as ‘harm none’?
Let me explain; I believe that we do not create luck, or love, or prosperity, but that we re-orient that specific energy towards us. If you cast a spell to find a job, you are shifting energy in favor of your employment. What if another person (maybe more in need of/more qualified for said job) who applies gets passed over because you cast a spell? Your intent is not to harm someone, but the fact is that someone remains unemployed by your fault. This is all, of course, theory and musings, but if such is the case, the ‘harm none’ is an unattainable ideal.
In essence, the only law that truly binds us is the law of return; Karma. Everything you do will come back to you. So, before casting a spell (which, in any case, should be a last resort, only to be used after all the mundane options have been explored), ask yourself; “Is what I am about to do really worth the Karma?”
